I can only recommend his services… I am quite a fussy/particular person, so my wedding photos had to be perfect! Guy and I first discussed what feel I wanted for the photos. Being both our second weddings, my fiance and I agreed we wanted it to be more informal and relaxed. Guy showed me examples of what be considered informal photos and we agreed on a feel and some style shots. Our venue was at the coast in South Africa during December which is a very humid, sticky and often a rainy season, so we discussed with Guy as to the challenges that posed, especially if it was to rain. We agreed to recce the venue and surrounds a day or two before the wedding to see possible photo opportunity areas together, which we did. He also suggested other areas, which we hadn’t seen (as he had recced the area before us). This recce really made me feel more at ease and I felt he understood our requirements and made positive imput as to other recommendations. We also discussed Plan B if it was to rain and what we would do. Because he was with us a day or so before the wedding, ( we had 4 feast days over our wedding time), he also took informal pics all the way along, which only added to the whole informal feel and special moments he captured. ( Like my daughter’s impromptu singing at the pulpit  at the rehearsal, and a crab walking along the road in front of the church !)

The day of the wedding, he was great and managed to organize the family and me! although I was a bundle of nerves. As well as the unknown challenges the day always brings. He remained calm and organized (which made me calm) and adapted to the heat, the guests and all situations that presented themselves. I dropped my bouquet somewhere on the golf course when we were taking pics and only realized when we got back to the hotel, no trouble for him, he said I should pop to the loo and he would go back on the golf cart and find it –which he did, much to my relief! Another thing he did, he used his initiative and made us a ‘just married’ sign for the back of our golf buggy (which no one else had remembered to do!) Just a few examples of how he did more than was expected of him , all to make our day better.

He was very easy to work with, listened to what we thought and made good suggestions, which worked! Gotta trust the professionals! He definitely captured the essence of our wedding and more. He did more than he promised. Would I do anything differently? No I don’t think so, he made me calm with his approach and so I enjoyed my day even more, trusting in what he was doing. No hidden extras. We were totally blown away with the final result, I am an ex graphic designer, so I was worried about layout etc, well…I shouldnt have worried…our album is magnificent!!! I cried with joy when I received it.

I would suggest you discuss what you want in detail, if you can, with Guy, the more insight he can get from you the better he can understand what you want. Review examples of photos together.  The recce of the venue and surrounds was such a good idea and a plan B in case things don’t pan out, ie weather, etc. And trust that he will do it beautifully and enjoy your day – it shows in the photographs!.
